MCPS launches new easy to buy licence
Small scale businesses and non professional organisations will benefit from a new fully functional online facility being launched today by MCPS (Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society). This is a physical product licence only.
The mechanical rights side of the MCPS-PRS Alliance is introducing a new and efficient solution for schools, wedding videographers, amateur dramatics societies and churches who wish to use music in small scale CD, DVD or video productions.
The Limited Manufacture Licence allows quick and easy access to over 10 million pieces of music and enables organisations to press up to 1,000 copies of their product with no requirement for music reporting.
Prices for the web-based licence are based on a simple flat fee structure, and range from £4.99 to £250.
Jeremy Fabinyi, Executive Director, MCPS said: ‘this is the first of a raft of new online licensing facilities which we will be launching. We want to make it as easy and straightforward as possible for people to use music in their business, product or project’.
