Music and Health

88%* more health practices in the UK have bought a PRS Music Licence in the past two years.

The music PRS represents has never been more in demand in this sector.

Music is a key element to creating atmosphere; not only does it make health practices more welcoming, it also enhances patients’ relaxation, provides entertainment whilst waiting and increases employee morale.

If health practices play music they need clearance to do so from the owners of that music. PRS represents the owners and can provide you the permissions you need enabling you access to the world's music in the most efficient way.

Dr. Rosalia Staricoff, who carried out a study at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, said: ‘Playing live music to patients helps to distract from their worries… there is growing scientific evidence that music aids physical changes which can help heal the body.’**

PRS Public Performance Sales Managing Director Keith Gilbert said: ‘Many health practices have already discovered the benefit of playing music in their practices.

‘The cost of playing music to create this better atmosphere is less than most people think; from as little as 18p a day. The money from PRS Music Licences goes directly to the people who have created the music.’

By buying a PRS Music Licence you have access to 10 million pieces of music and at a competitive rate.

Health practices can call 0800 068 4828 for further information and to receive a free quote for a PRS Music Licence.
