Band Biographies:

6 Day Riot

6 Day Riot are Danish multi-instrumentalist Soren Bonke,  Scottish singer-songwriter Tamara Schlesinger, bass player Jonathan Beyer and drummer Daniel Deavin.

The 6 day riot sound is both eclectic and at the same time entirely integrated - harnessing banjos, ukeleles, guitars and accordians with Eastern European folk beats, bluegrass rhythms, distorted guitars with infectious pop melodies to create a style of music utterly their own.

Broken Records

Broken Records, a continuously gigging seven piece band from Edinburgh Scotland, formed in early 2006 as an antidote to work.

Although several members have come and gone since forming, Broken Records are enjoying a more settled line-up planning to play as regularly and widely as possible. Believing that their music should be easily converted onto traditional acoustic instruments the group can adapt to any venue or occasion. Having several multi-instrumentalists also allows the band to utilize a wide range of interesting instruments including ‘cello, violin, accordion, and melodica.

Bunny

London based singer-songwriter Bunny got his first break when he got an insurance pay off following a motorbike accident on Westminster Bridge. He used the money to buy himself some recording equipment and started producing his own songs. His demos got a great response from people in the industry. One of these was producer Ian Grimble (Travis, Manic Street Preachers and Texas) who offered to record some tracks in his studio. In the autumn of 2005 Bunny hooked up with friend and producer Anthony Whiting (M.I.A., Zero7) to record some more songs. These collaborations resulted in the album Play to My own Tune. Underneath the complex arrangements and layered vocals lie dreamy, beautifully crafted pop songs.

Huw Costin

Huw Costin is a solo artist from Nottingham, England who is revealing his introspective side by going lonesome with just his voice and acoustic guitar for company.

Costin, inspired by the likes of Cash, Drake, Cope, Kilminster and Buckley has developed a new sound for his album ‘Regrets’, critically acclaimed by the NME yearbook in 2005 on white label and is due to be released in 2007.

Costin will be showcasing at live venues in the near future along with new material and is currently recording a new solo album with Tom Smith.

Mouse Eat Mouse

Mouse Eat Mouse formed in 2001. The band members are vocalist Andrew Slimon,  guitar players John White & John White, cellist Kate Baker,  saxophonist Colin Gavigan and drummer Stuart Nelson .

Their band’s live reputation grew and word spread about their folk-indie-jazz-scots-poetry combination.

In 2006, Mouse Eat Mouse played shows all over Scotland and were selected to play at the Tartan Heart Festival in Inverness.

The Clicks

A three piece band from Glasgow, The Clicks formed in February 2006 when Caroline O’Neil met David McMahon. After asking her to join the new band he was forming with Mark Anderson they began to write loud high energy pop songs. However after failing to find a drummer the band decided to take a bold step by progressing with a more mechanised sample-based drum sound.

Their sharp rock and roll sound, pounded with distorted beats and a punky pop sound shining through gives their sound a modern dance edge.

The Fontanas

Siblings without rivalry, The Fontanas are the musical brotherhood of producers Sam Sutton and Simon Ashbrook.   This unlikely international production duo first met by chance in 2004 on the express train to Barcelona Airport, when Simon commented on Sam´s somewhat dated electric guitar (a Mustang). Two years and one album later, they have worked slavishly across the ether between London and Barcelona, creating a body of work that most artists would find hard to achieve in two lifetimes.

Masters of fusion, their music is a case study in musical progression, with a catalogue of currently unreleased tracks ranging from downbeat back foot latin grooves and ambient trip hop to funk-fuelled house anthems that blow the doors off.

The Killerheels

The band from Manchester describes themselves as Retro Electro Glam with a twist of lemon! Combining 80s electro glamour, sex kitten attitude and punk rock rhythms, They strive to stamp down on the dull and plain mainstream pop, replacing it with shimmering live performances and tantalising beats.

Warped Memories

Folktronica solo artist, Warped Memories, was started by Lewis Cook at the age of 13 in the Scottish Borders. Warped Memories has spent the last 3 years experimenting and recording. As well as that, He's made many unique performances, both solo and collaborative, at various venues throughout Scotland. Mixing psychedelic experimentation, songwriting sensibilities and organic electronics, Warped Memories has found fans and critical acclaim in succesful bands across the world from the likes of Efterklang, 3/4 Had Been Eliminated and Another Fine Day.
