Filmbank is a totally separate organisation to PRS. Just as PRS customers may also need a PPL licence if they play recorded music, they may also need a PVSL licence from Filmbank if they are screening films. PVSL stands for Public Video Screening Licence and is legally required for all film screenings outside the cinema and home. This annual licence entitles holders to screen unlimited films throughout the year to a non-paying audience. Commercial screening licences to a paid audience are also available.
