PRS New Music Stage

Fringe Sunday 2008PRS New Music Stage storms Edinburgh Fringe

The PRS New Music stage played host to nine new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe on Sunday 10 August 2008.

A day of storms and rain was expected in Edinburgh, but the only storm was to be found on the PRS New Music Stage, as each of the nine acts gave energetic performances, confirming why they were short-listed from the 500 applicants who answered the PRS Call to Bands.

In front of a responsive crowd of 600, the day began with a lively performance by Dave Arcari, followed by the prop loving Molloy and the charming Juzzie Smith.  Punch and the Apostles tried to take the roof off and Eliza Wren Payne soothed the crowd and won herself a generation of young fans at this family event.

The day continued with the engaging Luva Anna and the quirky Tom Hickox.  The penultimate band We See Lights ensured all eyes were on them and closing the day The Vibrants added to their growing buzz as the exciting new live act.

The PRS New Music Stage, in association with Xfm and Music News Scotland, has been developed to support its up-and-coming members.  The nine diverse acts selected to play the stage represent the very best music talent in the UK and beyond.

You can view our video footage from the day.
