Where does the money come from?

From music performed live at smaller music venues, as well as clubs, pubs and bars. These are essentially venues which are not traditionally considered as places where you would have a ‘concert’.

How are royalties calculated?

Music researchers are sent to collect performance details direct from performers at statistically valid random sample of venues across the UK.

Members playing in venues of this size may also consider participating in the PRS Gigs and Clubs Scheme, though conditions do apply.

What is the administration rate?

When do we pay?

Royalties are paid quarterly, in accordance to the schedule below:

PRS distribution schedule for radio

NB: the top row shows the month the performance took place. The second row shows the target distribution payment month.

If we receive usage information late from the broadcaster, we will pay the resulting royalties in the next available distribution.

Can royalties be backdated?

No, not at present.

Why might I not have been paid for a non-concert, live music performance?

Was the performance included in our sample?

Royalties will only be paid for music included in our sample.
