Creative Manager Route - Charlie Grant and Peter Woodroofe

"Getting a cut that isn't co-written with an artist is really hard. Try to get in with an artist who is being developed - but don't put all your eggs in one basket. Our first cut was Roosters’ Come Get Some. We wrote with Nick from the band for almost a year and four of the songs we wrote made it onto the Rooster album. This helped us to land a publishing deal with EMI Music. From there things really changed, and thankfully put an end to the constant stress of trying to get a foot in the door.

Declan and Amber at EMI do a great job at putting us together with artists and other writers. Generally the artists’ label have a brief which helps to point us in the right direction, but if there's a day when no-one's booked in to write, we try to get new ideas up and running. We’ve found that the more ideas and start points we have ready, the easier it is to get going when we’re next working with an artist."
