Government to help live music venuesGovernment to help live music venues

The Government is to help live music venues following a report commissioned this year by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to review the licensing act of 2003.

They have made a number of recommendations to ensure that key live music venues in London are not closed down.

Recommendations include working with the Mayor of London to avoid the closure of live music venues and to source suitable replacements for venues that are closed down.

It is anticipated that these recommendations, once implemented, will promote live music as a regular feature in small-scale venues across the capital.
