Mercury nominations announced
The nominees for the 2008 Mercury Prize - the prestigious award which has most recently been won by Arctic Monkeys, Anthony and the Johnsons, Franz Ferdinand and Dizzee Rascal - have been revealed.
The run-down of twelve albums includes Adele's 19, In Rainbows from Radiohead, Estelle's Shine and The Last Shadow Puppets' The Age of the Understatement.
Alex Turner could score a third consecutive Mercury Prize with the Last Shadow Puppets having scooped the 2006 and 2007 awards with Arctic Monkeys.
