 Podcast 3

Every month we will be creating a podcast featuring members that we think you'll be hearing more about.

This month we are featuring Rival Joustas, Freerunner, Ang£l and Rex Radio.

Rival Joustas

Genre defying Rival Joustas (pronounced "jousters"), are a band that take music by the scruff of the neck and shake it til it screams.

Based in the quiet seaside town of Netley Abbey in Hampshire, Thomas Henley, Scott Reynolds, Ben Tickner and Morgan Hislop have been upsetting the neighbours for years.

The band have supported Mystery Jets, Hadouken and Good Books among others, and had played the Astoria at the age of 16, before they even signed a record deal.  Both Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq have championed the band.

Their track for the podcast is called  EXPERIMENT.

For information on the band, visit myspace.com/rivaljoustas or www.rivaljoustas.com

Freerunner

Born and bred in the North East of England, Freerunner have been described as 'XTC meets the Kooks with shades of Jeff Buckley'.

The band were recently signed to Zomba Publishing by the man responsible for signing Daft Punk, The Mystery Jets, M.I.A.  and Jamie T, with an offer after just 4 gigs, and they are now attracting major label interest.

They have played all over the UK, including showcases for Kerrang, HMV and In The City 2006 and have forthcoming support slots for I Was A Cub Scout and The Enemy.

Their track “Friday Don’t Need It” will be on the flipside of their single “She Get It”, to be released in the Summer.

Find out more about them at myspace.com/freerunnerband or www.freerunner.uk.com

Ang£l

London MC Ang£l is picking up the respect due to a man of his talent.  He has opened for Ludicris at Brixton Academy and has featured on Westwood’s Radio 1 show.

Although he says he’s no singer, that doesn’t stop him from writing great songs, so as well as writing for himself, he is in increasing demand to write for other artists.

Ang£l's music is not just for the beat heads, it’s soulful hip hop for everyone.

His track is “She’s With Me”.

Ang£l’s debut album “Soar with Me” is now available from his website, www.angeltheartist.com, and in the shops soon.

Rex Radio

Glam is back in the shape of REX RADIO.  Good looking and sharp dressed, they have been gigging extensively around the UK, including a packed residency at Shoreditch’s super-hip Old Blue Last, and a Club NME night at Koko.

They are currently working on their debut album for B-Unique Records.

Have a listen to “FLASHBOY” – it’s going to be the song everyone’s singing this summer.
