 Podcast 6

Every month we will be creating a podcast featuring members that we think you'll be hearing more about.

This month we are featuring Gallows, Danelle, Kris Drever and The Suzukis.

Gallows

Gallows have hailed as the most exciting band to emerge from the UK punk/hardcore scene in years. Brothers Frank and Steph Carter, Laurent Barnard, Stuart Gili-Ross and Lee Barratt formed the band in their hometown Watford in 2005. Their debut album ‘Orchestra Of Wolves’ re-invested punk with passion, brutality and menace. Two years later they have received accolades from NME, Kerrang!, Rock Sound and Metal Hammer, and considerable airplay on Radio 1 and XFM.

Their track for this month's podcast is called Come Friendly Bombs.

Fresh from tearing up venues across America, they are touring the UK through September and October 2007.  Find out more at: gallows.co.uk

Danelle

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Danelle Harvey’s solo material is soulful folk-rock, with a London-centric urban twist, but she also writes music for TV, and as a vocalist she has worked with major artists across the board – from Meatloaf to P. Diddy.

Her track is called What Could I Do?

Kris Drever

Kris Drever is an experienced roots-music solo artist and session player, originally from the Orkneys.  Kris upped sticks and moved to Edinburgh in 1995, and quickly moved from the pub folk circuit to huge tours.  His recent album as part of folk supergroup LAU was described in Folk Roots magazine as “album of the year already”, and more recently, Kris picked up the “Horizon Award”, for best new artist at the BBC Folk Awards.

Here Kris performs Beads and Feathers, written by fellow PRS member, Sandy Wright.  If you’d like to see Kris perform, or to buy his music, visit him at krisdrever.com.

The Suzukis

These four lads are stroppy, lairy rock’n’rollers in casual's clothing, and they carry their raw, aggressive attitude into the studio and onto the stage.

You will be swept away by the simple throbbing basslines, the washes of distorted guitar, the unrelenting drums and the angry but beautifully melodic vocals. Their debut EP was released on Deltasonic in July, and includes the track on our podcast, Head Set.
