What does the scheme cover?
The PRS clearance allows you to broadcast PRS members’ music.
The MCPS clearance allows you to:
- record MCPS members' music into programmes and presentation material (e.g. jingles, trailers, station idents).
- transfer MCPS members' music onto computer hard disk or any other medium or format for storage purposes prior to broadcast.
- broadcast MCPS library members' production music recordings (whether from commercials, programming or any other source).
How do you apply to the scheme?
To apply to the scheme you must complete the application form and send it along with your payment to us.
You may also require clearance from record companies for the use of the sound recording. You will need to contact Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) for this on 020 7534 1000.
How much do you pay?

How does the payment process work?
For both MCPS and PRS clearance you must send your payment to us along with your application form.
What does the scheme exclude?
The use of MCPS members' music in advertising (this requires separate clearance). For more information on how to do this contact us.
