Because without PRS…
…the world would be a much quieter place.
PRS is a not-for-profit membership organisation which collects licence fees from music users, and distributes these as royalties to writers and publishers of music from the UK and around the world.
By law if you use copyright music in public (i.e. outside of the home) by any means whether it be a CD, radio, TV or live you must first obtain permission from every writer and composer whose music you intend to play.
The money from PRS Music Licences goes directly to the people who have created the music.
