General entertainment on demand

The joint MCPS-PRS General Entertainment On-Demand (GEOD) Licences are designed for audio and audio-visual services offering ‘general entertainment’ content where music is not the primary focus (i.e. as distinct from music services). Services covered by GEOD are interactive or on-demand services (including streaming or downloading) over the internet, mobile or TV platforms.

APPLY HERE

We currently offer customers a short-term, non-precedential licence that runs until the end of 2008.

How do you apply for a licence?

To apply for a GEOD licence please complete the application form and return it to us.

How much does the licence cost?

Each licence is calculated on an individual basis and the fee is based on a number of factors including music hours consumed, the viewer/subscriber figures and general music use.  Licensees are required to pay a non-refundable minimum advance fee of £200 per calendar year (which is pro-rated for periods of less than 12 months).

Reporting

Large scale customers are required to report music usage on a line by line basis.

Small scale customers are required to report details of the total level of music usage, including the different types of use (e.g. streaming, downloading), but do not have to provide line by line reporting.
